FUE's Advantages Compared to FUT

  • Since there is no incision in FUE, it is easier for the patients to accept the operation. It is hard to convince the patient for FUT because of the incisions.
  • FUE causes less pain during the operation. FUT is more painful.
  • FUE is more suitable for technical development. With new devices such as FUE Motor, FUE Robot, it is closer to inventions that will increase the comfort of the patients and doctors. FUT is not open to development and change.
  • In FUE, only 3 days of care is required for the donor area after the operation. In FUT, 15 days of care is required for the donor area after the operation.
  • In FUE, it is mainly required to use pain killers only for 1 day after the surgery. In FUT, this period may extend until the day that the sutures are removed.
  • In FUE, there is no need to remove the sutures. In FUT, the patient should go to a doctor after 15 days and ask for the removal of the sutures.
  • There is no scar in FUE. In FUT, there is a 12-15 cm long, 0.5-2 cm deep scar in the suture area.
  • FUE is a high-speed procedure. Tissue removal period is much shorter. In FUT, it is longer because of processes of removing follicular unit, stitching the wound and separating them.
  • In FUE, a second session can be planned for the next day. In FUT, you should wait at least 6 months for a second session.
  • FUE is more appropriate for procedures such as eyebrow transplant, beard transplant, moustache transplant, sideburns transplant, chest hair transplant and for fixing tiny problems. When it is required to remove small amount of roots, FUE is much quicker and practical. FUT is more detailed, risky and longer for such operations.
  • In FUE, there is no risk for the patient to faint while removing the tissue. In FUT, the patient may faint a lot because of the feeling of the incisions and the blood loss.
  • In FUE, blood loss is very little throughout the operation. In FUT, blood loss is more.
  • In FUE, you don’t need to burn veins using cautery. In FUT, it is generally required to burn the veins using cautery to stop the bleeding after the incision.
  • In FUE, donor area heals rapidly. In FUT, follicle unit removal area requires a lot of time to heal.
  • In FUE, it is easy for the patient to make plans for the second session after the operation. In FUT, the risk of patient escaping from the second session is higher.
  • In FUE, the chance for patients to recommend the operation to others is higher. In FUT, the chance for patients to recommend the operation to others is much lower.
